I’m going to share a secret with you: I never buy body scrubs. Since discovering how to make this incredibly efficient Cellulite Reducing Coffee Body Scrub, I simply can’t justify forking out my hard-earned coins to buy one that will more than likely lack in comparison. One of the great things about this scrub is that it contains only 4 natural ingredients that can easily be found. Here’s a breakdown of what they can provide for your skin:
Ground coffee beans
With a surprisingly high concentration of antioxidants – even higher than most fruits and vegetables – ground coffee applied directly to the skin can help to reduce signs of aging, sun damage and wrinkles. It’s also known for its anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce redness and skin sensitivity. Finally, coffee helps to tighten skin, which in turn reduces the appearance of cellulite.
Cacao Butter
Used for centuries in the Caribbean, cacao butter has a long history as a highly nutritious moisturiser. This natural butter is capable of hydrating even the most damaged skin. It’s easily absorbed, it remains on the skin for hours, and it’s suitable for those with sensitive skin. It additionally contains Polyphenols, a type of antioxidant known to fight degeneration of the skin.
Peppermint Oil
Not only does this delightful oil add a beautiful, uplifting fragrance, it also contains Omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin A & C, calcium, iron, potassium, and magnesium.
Brown Sugar
The small particles of brown sugar are perfect for removing dead skin cells and promoting skin rejuvenation. It additionally contains Glycolic acid, which fights bacteria and is also an alpha-hydroxyl acid that assists skin cell turnover.
When these four ingredients are combined and massaged into the skin, the result is amazing. My skin was instantly softer, more hydrated, and while my detested cellulite did not disappear, it certainly did become less visible.
Everyone’s skin is different, so I recommend testing this on a small section of your skin for several hours before applying it all over.
