This apple pie martini recipe uses real baked apples as well as a pinch of cinnamon and a dash of maple syrup, to give it an authentic apple pie flavour. It’s seriously tasty!
It’s not often that I prefer Anglo-Saxon desserts over beautifully refined French patisserie. However, if I had to choose between a Tarte aux Pommes and an American style Apple Pie, the Apple Pie would be the clear winner. In my opinion, the extra layer of crispy pastry and the pinch of cinnamon that coats the apples, take the American Apple Pie to the next level. In fact, just writing about it is making me crave a nice big slice right now.
I’m a big fan of turning desserts into cocktails (you may remember this raspberry rose cocktail recipe I posted a while ago). Now that’s autumn’s here and apples are at their best, I wanted to create an apple pie martini recipe with a real authentic flavour. I found the best way to do this, is to roast your apple first until soft and mushy. It takes a little time so you may want to prepare this step in advance and store them in the fridge. Like that your guests won’t have to wait hours on end for their cocktail!
Apple Pie Martini Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 apples diced
- Pinch of cinnamon
- 4 tbsp. of water
- 30 ml of maple syrup
- 60 ml of vodka
- 60 ml of freshly pressed apple juice
Instructions
- Place the diced apples in a small baking dish. Sprinkle the cinnamon over the apples and add the water. Cover the dish tightly with aluminium foil and bake at 180°C for 20 minutes or until the apples are tender. Allow to cool in the fridge.
- Place the apples and maple syrup in a cocktail shaker and muddle until a purée forms. Add the vodka, apple juice and a handful of ice. Firmly attach the cocktail shaker’s lid and shake for a minute or two.
- Strain the mixture into two cocktail glasses and serve straight away.
