Whether you’re a blogger, a student, an account or a lawyer, everyone needs a break. For me, my break is this week. Paris is a loud, fast paced city that is full of life, and weirdos, and amazing patisseries – plus many other things. I love living here but after a while it becomes draining. I can speak and understand French quite well but not perfectly. I have to concentrate to understand what is going on around me; I have to translate sentences in my head before I can start a conversation; and I constantly feel guilty for speaking in English instead of practicing my French. Learning a second language has not come naturally to me. It’s a daily challenge, a challenge I normally relish, but every now and then I need a break, some time out where I can embrace my native language without feeling guilty. So, this week I’ve decided to take a much needed trip to London to surround myself with the familiarities of home – or things close enough to those at home. It’s a week I’ll spend with some of my closest friends and a week I’ll celebrate my 28th birthday. Unfortunately, I won’t have the time for any new posts this week, but next week I’ll be back with several posts I’m sure you will love. Until then, I hope you all have an amazing week!!
